Why Can’t You Put an Above-Ground Pool on Concrete?

Some people are concerned about placing their above-ground pool on concrete because concrete can be unlevel, which leads to the pool having more pressure on it in certain places, which can lead to leaks.

However, as long as you’re careful about concrete, it can be beneficial to the pool.  Concrete ensures that there is nothing else rocky under the pool.  Plus, it ensures that the pool will remain level, unlike soil, which is commonly underneath above-ground pools.

Will an Above-Ground Pool Crack Concrete?

An above-ground pool could crack concrete if the concrete was not poured correctly. Therefore, it is vital for your pool’s safety to ensure that your newly poured concrete is level.

How Thick Should a Concrete Slab Be for a Pool?

Your pool’s concrete slab should be at least four inches thick.  It needs to be thick enough to support the pool’s weight, including the water.  Therefore, the larger the pool, the thicker the concrete slab should be. 

Additionally, what you have under the slab is important. For example, if you just have soil, you may need to pour your concrete an inch or two thicker.  Whereas, if you have sand and gravel underneath, you should be good with just four inches of concrete. 

Can I Put an Above-Ground Pool on Pavers?

If installed properly and with proper cushioning and support, you can have an above-ground pool on pavers, but it’s not the best idea.  Without the proper support, there will be too much weight on the pool, and it may collapse or leak. 

Instead, pour a new concrete slab, or place your above-ground pool on already existing level ground.  Either way, your pool will be less likely to crack or leak.

There are a variety of useful things you can put under an above-ground pool, though the most common is concrete.  No matter what you use, understand its purpose is to cushion the pool and prevent cracks and leaks.

Can You Put a Portable Hot Tub in the Garage?

Inflatable or portable hot tubs are handy because they can be placed on basically any flat surface available, whether on your patio or in your garage. The most important thing is that the surface is level, without cracks or bumps.

As long as your garage has an empty space large enough for a portable hot tub, you should have no problem placing it there.  Just be sure the foundation can handle having that much water on it, and you’re good to go!

Can I Put a Hot Tub in My Garage?
